When I tell you that I understand the struggle, I really honestly do. Today I will share my own story about my path of denial before I finally quit smoking and my journey to becoming a smoke free Person.

I share this with you so that you know that I have lived and walked this path and when I tell you that honestly you can do this - it's from having tried all the hard ways of quitting before finally, thankfully, experiencing Hypnotherapy and experiencing the RAPID shift it made in my life.

> I started smoking at age 18 yrs (I know – I got through all those years of seeing my peers smoke)

> I quit cold turkey at 25 yrs (my environment totally changed)

> Started up again at 30 yrs. (Telling myself I can easily do this cold turkey again whenever I choose to) duh!!!

I continued to smoke for the next 23yrs – telling myself:

I enjoy this
It is sociable
It keeps my weight down (always struggled with my weight but this made it easier to keep weight off)

I didn’t really believe all the statistics about dying of cancer through smoking – I was totally brainwashing myself here.

"I am healthy because I exercise and eat well so I am ok to continue smoking." I would tell myself.

As the years went by I started noticing that I was struggling to breathe when walking, coughing constantly, I lost my tastebuds…..but it is amazing that I still told myself the story that I was OK!

Myself and co-smokers would laugh at the government trying to gross us out with the packaging (I got myself a cool cigarette holder) and somehow still convinced myself that it was my personal choice and no-one could take this away from me!

Long story short – eventually the taxes on the cigarettes started hurting (still wouldn’t admit that they were affecting my health) and I decided to go cold turkey – after all I had done this in the past very easily and successfully!

Well – was I let down very badly! I couldn’t believe how I couldn’t just stop! I am usually a very strong minded person and this really affected my confidence. The more determined I was to Quit the harder it got, and I started to tell myself “Ok just keep on smoking – what does it matter?”

Of course this didn’t help either my health nor my wallet!!

Do you remember when the Drs were handing out the Champix tablets?... I thought OK – I need some help – I had heard good reviews – well I ended up in hospital as I had an allergic anaphylactic reaction where my throat swelled up and I couldn’t breathe (turned out that this was a very common occurrence with this drug and it ended up being recalled).

This was more proof to myself that I should just keep on smoking …….. Notice a pattern going on here with my conscious mind?

I then tried reading Allen Carr – "The Only Way To Quit Smoking" – here’s this guy saying keep smoking all the way through this book and by the end you won’t want to smoke anymore– guess what... I didn’t want to finish the book as I would have to stop smoking!

Life continued on – then someone I knew got emphysema and died and someone else got throat cancer etc – these were my smoking buddies!

More and more people around me were all quitting – I was getting very fed up with myself at being so bloody pathetic but still nothing I tried worked for me.

Finally someone suggested a local lady who they reckoned had helped heaps of people quit smoking by hypnotherapy – I was extremely sceptical, but thought let’s just try……….and the rest is history – I did it phew….

IT WORKED FOR ME EASILY AND EFFORTLESSLY AND I HAVE BEEN SMOKE FREE FOR 7 YEARS

I had to make a conscious effort and to know that so much was habit and make the effort at the beginning to change my daily habits - but compared to everything else I tried it really was easy.
